Skyview Fire Show

July 10th found the Supercharged Warriors in New York at the beautiful Skyview Dragway. The air was full of excitement and anticipation since it was the night of the Skyview Fire Show. The wheel stander of Ken Brewer, Jet Trains and Bob Motz Jet Kenworth were all in attendance with the Supercharged Warriors. The Warriors started their show with the Mickey Thompson Burnout Challenge always a fan favorite. Bill Bonanti and Moose Danes both did wild smoky burnouts setting the pace for the round. Bill won the race with a 4.76 to Mosse's 5.01. Flash driven by Jerry Bascombe lined up against Vinny DiRose in Black Ice, both tearing up the track with long burnouts. In the end Bascombe took the win with a 4.89. Next to the line were Joe Veschusio in the Thriller and Jared Yuhasz in Hell Raiser. Joe took the Mickey Thompson Burnout Challenge to another level when he smoked up the track to the 1/8 mile mark.Thriller won the round in a close race. Bob Lascak in Wicked was up against Mike Himes in Dangerzone to end the burnout round. Bob and Mike did good burnouts but, could not better Joe Veschusio. Congratulations to Joe on winning the Mickey Thompson Burnout Challenge. The elimination round brings the Enderlee Fuel Injection Quick Reaction Time Award. The drivers all have to be on their game to compete for this coveted award. Bill Bonanti and Jared Yuhasz were the first pairing in the elimination round. Bonanti took the win with a 4.82 to Jared's 5.05. Joe Veschusio and Moose Danes were up next with Danes taking the win light running a 4.93 to Joes 4.97. Next there was a little twist in the Warrior race. New Yorks own Jessie Harris was behind the wheel of Dangerzone. Jessie came to the line against Bob Lascak. The veteran Lascak took the win but, Jessie was still the crowd favorite making a good run. Last in the elimination round were Black Ice and Flash. In a close battle Flash took the win light. The Enderlee Quick Reaction Time Award went to Moose Danes. Great job Moose. In the final round the Wicked Vette of Bob Lascak lined up against Flash of Jerry Bascombe. Lascak took the win with a 4.97 to Bascombe's 4.80. The Warriors would like to thank George, Amy and all the Skyview staff for the chance to race at their Fire Show.Also a big thank you to all the fans you make what we do more enjoyable.
