The Supercharged Warriors thundered into beautiful Pittsburgh Raceway Park to start their 2010 season. It had been a long winter and the drivers and crews were ready for long smoky burnouts and some side by side racing.Pittsburgh Raceways starting line crew had done their job well. The starting line was glued up and ready to hold the power of the blown alchohol doorslammers and altereds.First round pitted Mike Himes in the Dangerzone camaro against Bill Bonanti in the Thunderstruck camaro. They both left early lighting the red, the win went to Dangerzone.Next was Jared Yuhasz in the Hell Raiser against newcomer Vinni DiRose debuting his awesome 57 Chevy named Black Ice. Jared won with a 7.63 at 174 mph over Vinni's 8.41 at 150 mph. Moose Danes lined up against Flash piloted by Jerry Bascombe. Moose had problems with his transmission at the starting line giving the win to Jerry running a 7.69 at 150 mph. The Wicked Vette of Bob Lascak had the by run. Mike Himes took home the Mickey Thompson burn out challenge.
The Warriors all went back to the pit area to talk with fans, sign autographs and get ready for the next round of racing.
Second round started with the Hell Raiser driven by Jared Yuhasz against Flash driven by Jerry Bascombe. Bascombe ran a 7.78 losing to Hell Raiser's 7.56. Yuhasz also took home the Enderlee Fuel Quick Reaction time with a .037 light.Bob Lascak in his Wicked Vette pulled up beside Vinni DiRose in Black Ice when the smoke had settled from their burnouts. DiRose took the round win from the veteran Lascak.Wild Bill Bonanti in the Thunderstruck lined up beside the Mad Man Mike Himes in Dangerzone. The two camaros left the line together but at the finish line Thunderstruck took the win with a 8.07 Himes ran under the index with a 7.47.
The final brought back Hell Raiser against Thunderstruck. In a very tight race Jared and Bill both ran 7.531 but Yuhasz ran 178 mph to Bonanti's 172 mph. Hell Raiser took the win with the faster mile per hour. Congratulations to Jared and the Hell Raiser team.
The Supercharged Warriors would like to thank Mickey Thompson Tires, Enderlee Fuel Injections and all their other sponsors for the support given. Also a big thank you to Greg and all the crew at Pittsburg Raceway Park for the awesome track conditions and the warm welcome. Next race Kanawha Valley hope to see you there.
